Emily is finished pre-school. Thursday was the end of school picnic. She had a great time and gave her teachers big hugs. She saw a magician and also got to throw rocks into the creek with Connor, Carson and Angelique. (Hey, I just made a rhyme.) After the picnic we went to Connor's house for our usual Thursday lunch/playdate/nap. We already had lunch, so the kids played and I napped! Thanks Beth.
Friday was a beautiful day. Amanda only has 5 more days of school! I think she is excited. I received a call late today from my nurse practioner to let me know that there was no infection on the port and blood culture was also negative!!!! YAY!!
The girls and I went shopping at Lowe's on Saturday, just in time for the storm. We picked out shades for both of their bedrooms and curtains for Amanda. We looked at lots of other things as well. But, of course, we had to look at the "fake bathrooms". For some reason the girls love the cool toilets, sinks and tubs. I think they forgot about the window and sliding glass door area. We got just enough stuff to keep Paul busy for the rest of the day!
Today, Monday, June 2nd.
Amanda went to school. (Thanks Jen.) Emily went to Lauren and Luke's. (Thanks Allison.) And I went for treatment. (Thanks Diane.) Cycle 13, week 2. It was fairly empty there, since most docs were at the ASCO conference. I just saw the nurse practitioner and for the first time, I don't think I had any questions. Chemo went well, had to have IV in hand. Stopped by Interventional Radiology area to have incision checked. Healing well. Had lunch and hit the road. It was a great day! I thought I would get home around 2:30! But then we stopped on the NE Extension of the turnpike. And there we sat for about an hour and 45 minutes!About a half mile ahead of us was an accident. Firetruck, ambulance, cop cars, helicopters (one to airlift someone from the accident), tow trucks (one of which was going north in the southbound lanes) and lots of people out of cars.
All in all it was a good day and I really can't complain about anything!
Happy day, y'all!
